Icaros are songs of teaching, healing, invocation and protection. There are Icaros that sooth the spirit and allow us to see not only what is there and is not seen, but also what is felt, and what others feel. These songs let us see the past, and what is yet to come.

The Icaros are given by the plants themselves. They are transmitted to healers, only after they become physically, mentally and spiritually prepared to receive them.

Abrete Corozon is a "standard" Icaro known throughout the ceremony community. The original version was given by Rosa Giove, who broke our hearts wide open and gave us the gift of remembering our true vibration of love. Whenever I get caught in the net, singing this Icaro helps me come back to my own true self. I am not a trained singer, and so this is just an expression from my heart, uplifted with the beautiful voice of Kara Suzanne.
